Xenophobic attack in South Africa

Lesson Learnt:

I have been ruminating for several days and wondering why a group of people who are majority in a country or place will suddenly rise up and form a sect based on the ideology that they own the land and should be in control of the happenings and events that occurs there. Many at times, this ideology has been the reason for bloodshed, destruction of life and properties, economic melt down, famine and many more. The climax of this is that the aftermath exceed the actual happenings, after this act and event might have been curb, it leads to high increase in depressed individual, suicide, drug abuse, malnutrition and many more, as the recipient of this happenings lose hope in life having lost all they loved and cared for.

Now, to the lesson I learnt, I found out that right from the Bible days men tends to store up jealously and envy in their heart towards people that are prosperous especially when such individual or group is of another race, ethnic group, nation and resides among them. The need to be in power and control suddenly builds up envy and jealously in a man's heart and went this hit a credo in him, he produces the fruits of this belief.

In the Bible days, there was a man of another nation who entered into another nation empty but later started  prospering.
Genesis 26:12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him.
Genesis 26:13 And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:
Genesis 26:14 For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.
The people of this nation were so envious of him that they started destroying his possession just like the South Africans' did to foreigner's in their country, majoring on Nigerians resident there. The aftermath of this was that it triggers a concurrent riot from Nigerians back home, who also started raiding, destroying and causing havoc in investment own by South Africans in their country. Some Nigerians lost their life, properties in the recent attack and past attacks. International investors are thinking of pulling out their investment as the concurrent attacks are posing threat to their investment.

South Africans' are of the belief that the reason for unemployment and other terrible occurrence in their country is because of this group who constitute a very small percentage of the country's population. It is quite saddening what envy and jealously cause.

The aftermath of this event and happening unknown to the South Africans' is that there  will be sudden melt down in the economy of the country if not curb as investors are planning to pull out their investment which constitute a certain percent in the country's GDP. Other sector in the country that adds to the economic buoyancy like tourism will also be affected as tourist would no longer go to that part of the world seeing that they are predispose to life threatening happenings in the country.

Now to the key lessons learnt:

- Always seek for direction in wisdom before investing and venturing into another country of which you are not a citizen.

- The hunger for power and to be in control will so much consumes a man's heart that he would never realize he has lose the human in him.

- Do to other want you want them to do to you; the South Africans' should have think of their investment in Nigerians before triggering an attack against them.

- People's life should be valued.

- Racism will cause more damage to us as individual, group, country that we can ever have the capacity to control.

- We can be divided by race, skin colour, where we are resident in but that should never create  an hatred in us towards people that are not of our race, skin colour and the likes.

- See every one from a love perspective and always see the good in man.

- Never major on that which is given to you by providence to belittle others; remember no man chose where to be born or by who he/she should be conceived.
