This is true value

Getting your needs met through self value.

Growing up I have often heard people in my locality using quotes like; "Use what you have to get what you want" and I have grown up to the interpretation of this quote to be that a female uses her body part, that is having sex to get a certain favour or thing from a male counterpart and in other hand the male bribe his way to obtain favour. Both applies to both male and female anyway, depending on who they want to get the favour from. 

After several years, now as a young man in his mid twenties, I have grow out of the mindset and ideology as I was to later found out in life, that the true interpretation of the quote is that the value in you, the potentials you have, that which is unique to you that other don't have, can be your selling point or your means of obtaining favour from men. I have come to the reality that one does not need to bend corners or orchestrate things through manipulation to get whatever he wants. I have had the experience and heard of others experience, how they got what they wanted at the time, just because of the value in them that they/ people have recognized with.

While writing this article, I remember a movie; "Alvin and the Chipmunks ", in one of the episode of this movie, the chipmunks with a friend needed to book a train ticket but had no money, so they had to stay at a corner of the street and started singing and as people passed, they drop some bucks down for them and with that they could get the ticket. Now their selling point was the value in them, their melodious voices and ability to create good music. 

Another example, is that of a preacher in West Africa, Nigeria to be precise, he was walking across the street one day and suddenly stumbled on a book store across the street, he decided to check in at the bookstore and check out what they have in store, he got a quite large number of books that interest him but when he got to the cashier place, he suddenly realize he wasn't with enough money or credit card to pay. So as he was planning to return some of the books, the store keeper walked up to him and told him he can pay at a later time without collecting any of his information. Now, looking at that, how was he able to get what he wanted? He was able to because of his personality as a preacher and a public figure, the store keeper knows that a man of such great value would never be dishonest with business dealings. 

There was a young man, who was seeking for employment in a company, just like him, there were lots of job seeker that came into the company that fateful morning, but unlike them  he was someone that honour all men no matter their background or personality, so he met this young man at the gate and greeted him but others just pass him by thinking he is but a gate keeper, but unknown to them, he was the only child of the CEO of the company who loved to see what goes on around. This young man was the only one that was given the position applied for, although he had the least qualification. Now how did he bag his desired job? It was by honour. Learn to honour all men. This could be your selling points and only means of gaining men to yourself.

In all, what I have been trying to pass across to you, is that, your means of getting whatever you need in life, is in you, you just need to discover that value in you, engage it and let people see it. People would never value you more than you value yourself. The true value and worth of a man is in his wealth of wisdom, knowledge, understanding.
